PASSA-SE EM ÁFRICA | como a grávida chega ao hospital para ter o seu bebé ... | É BILL GATES QUE NOS CONTA SOBRE «M-MAMA»

In many parts of sub-Saharan Africa, the biggest danger during childbirth is that a pregnant woman in crisis won’t make it to the hospital on time.
m-mama is solving this problem with a simple hotline. When a community healthcare worker calls in an emergency, a trained dispatcher coordinates whatever transportation is available—a car, a motorcycle, a boat, even a horse—and tracks the journey to make sure the mother gets to a qualified medical facility on time.
Since 2013, m-mama has responded to more than 125,000 emergencies and saved an estimated 5,266 lives. Unlike other improvements to a country’s healthcare system, m-mama doesn’t require building new hospitals or buying expensive equipment. It just makes what already exists work better.

As always, thanks for being an Insider.
